First Graders started off the school year in art class by drawing monsters using their imagination. Students listened to the story When a Monster is Born to inspire their monster creations. Students used their imagination and knowledge of shape, line, color and pattern that they learned in Kindergarten to create silly fun monster drawings using black markers and crayons. Check out some pictures of these fantastic monsters created by Lakewood first graders below!

Mrs. HallI am the art teacher and creative coach at Lakewood and Waukazoo Elementary Schools, part of West Ottawa Public Schools. I received my Bachelor and Master of Art Education at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm very proud to say that I am an art teacher and truly enjoy exploring the fine arts with my students. I am also a fine artist with a focus in printmaking. It is my joy of teaching that inspires me to be a better artist; the joy of creating my own art work that makes me a better teacher. I am very thankful to have a career in something that I am passionate about and love. Archives
