2nd through 5th grade students have been busy creating very unique self-portraits. Given the new norm of wearing masks in school, we created self portraits that relate to the current times. In art class we discussed how each of us are wearing masks yet our personalities still shines and all the unique qualities that we have still show in ours eyes, body language and character. That's why these self portraits show them masked and unmasked surrounded with words that describe how amazing each of them are. These awesome Behind The Mask Self-Portraits adorn the lockers down our halls reminding us how unique and amazing each student is at Lakewood.

Mrs. HallI am the art teacher and creative coach at Lakewood and Waukazoo Elementary Schools, part of West Ottawa Public Schools. I received my Bachelor and Master of Art Education at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm very proud to say that I am an art teacher and truly enjoy exploring the fine arts with my students. I am also a fine artist with a focus in printmaking. It is my joy of teaching that inspires me to be a better artist; the joy of creating my own art work that makes me a better teacher. I am very thankful to have a career in something that I am passionate about and love. Archives
