Students are learning about two types of Abstract Art: Objective and Non-Objective. Students currently did an art excercise that showed each student is unique and thinks differently. Students were given all the same 5 directions to creat a non-objective line drawing. In the end every piece showed in originality and creativity. The Kinders have been busy learning about the Art Element LINE. Students have been using their finger to draw lines in the air and there bodies to make lines with "Line Ninja" chops. (Ask them to show you their line Their Line Ninja Chops : )) Students read and watched the video of Harold and the Purple Crayon. A story about a little boy that goes on many adventures drawing each place with his purple crayon. Pictures of students examples are posted below. Each student created their own purple crayon adventure using their knowledge of LINE. |
Mrs. HallI am the art teacher and creative coach at Lakewood and Waukazoo Elementary Schools, part of West Ottawa Public Schools. I received my Bachelor and Master of Art Education at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm very proud to say that I am an art teacher and truly enjoy exploring the fine arts with my students. I am also a fine artist with a focus in printmaking. It is my joy of teaching that inspires me to be a better artist; the joy of creating my own art work that makes me a better teacher. I am very thankful to have a career in something that I am passionate about and love. Archives
