Fourth and fifth graders have continued to learn more about Optical Illusion Art. Students practiced their measuring skills by creating a Ricocheting Op Art piece. Students made straight lines that bounced off of eachother to create the illusion of depth or a flat 2D piece of art that looks as though it is spiraling inward.
Second and third grade students are currently learning about realistic art. Students started a realistic landscape using their knowlegde of Foreground, Middle ground and Background to create depth in their Landscape. Students will also use oil pastels and watercolor paint to give their pictures texture to depict the real world.
After visiting the local Pumpkin Patch on a field trip, kindergartners created a class pumpkin patch in art class! Students used their knowledge of curved lines and loopty loop lines to create their very own pumpkin collage.

Mrs. HallI am the art teacher and creative coach at Lakewood and Waukazoo Elementary Schools, part of West Ottawa Public Schools. I received my Bachelor and Master of Art Education at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm very proud to say that I am an art teacher and truly enjoy exploring the fine arts with my students. I am also a fine artist with a focus in printmaking. It is my joy of teaching that inspires me to be a better artist; the joy of creating my own art work that makes me a better teacher. I am very thankful to have a career in something that I am passionate about and love. Archives
