Kindergartners are currently learning about the ART ELEMENT Line. Students practiced creating 3d lines by sculpting coils out of modeling clay and bending them in different ways.
First Graders read the story Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Students are using there knowledge of collage, shapes and symmmetry to create a wild thing puppet. Students began their wild things heads and they are off to a fantastic start!
4th and 5th graders are learning about Optical Illusion Art this semster. We started off the year using our previous knowledge of shading to create the illusion of a hand popping out of a loose leaf piece of paper. I'm looking forward to sharing many more OP Art experiences with these kiddos over the next couple of weeks!
These students are currently learning all about theabstract style art . The first project of the school year is all about Non-Objective art. We started our 5 line abstract painting with an art class dedicated to line and now onto shape. When these works of art are completed they will explode with color, pattern and design. |
Mrs. HallI am the art teacher and creative coach at Lakewood and Waukazoo Elementary Schools, part of West Ottawa Public Schools. I received my Bachelor and Master of Art Education at Kendall College of Art & Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm very proud to say that I am an art teacher and truly enjoy exploring the fine arts with my students. I am also a fine artist with a focus in printmaking. It is my joy of teaching that inspires me to be a better artist; the joy of creating my own art work that makes me a better teacher. I am very thankful to have a career in something that I am passionate about and love. Archives
